The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has unsealed about 60 private jets 24 hours after they were grounded.

The move is to give the owners room to regularise their papers and ensure all necessary charges and levies are duly paid to appropriate government coffers.

This was contained in a circular dated June 4, 2025 and signed by Deputy Comptroller General C.K. Niagwan, on behalf of the Comptroller General of Customs. The circular clarified that the move does not waive any legal obligations.
