Intreensic, a payments education and advisory group established to address Africa’s payments and fintech talent gap, has officially launched “Made-in-Payments”, a flagship platform dedicated to spotlighting the pioneers and trailblazers whose contributions have transformed Africa’s payments ecosystem and continue to shape its future.
As Africa’s digital economy accelerates, the payments ecosystem has emerged as a critical driver of inclusion, commerce, and economic transformation. Made-in-Paymentscaptures and amplifies the real stories of the individuals who built the rails, created groundbreaking innovations, and disrupted traditional financial systems to make payments faster, safer, and more inclusive.

“The future of payments in Africa is being shaped by bold thinkers and doers,” says Nkebet Mesele, Founder and CEO of Intreensic. “Made-in-Payments was born out of a simple but powerful idea — to document the journeys of those who were there at the beginning, the visionaries who laid the foundations, and those driving the next wave of innovation. This thriving ecosystem we see today didn’t happen by chance. It’s the product of relentless effort, foresight, and courage from individuals who dared to build the future.”
“Whether you are an aspiring founder, a payments professional, or someone curious about the future of money, Made-in-Payments is here to show you what’s possible — and how you, too, can become Made-in-Payments: a leader, a builder, or someone remarkably successful within the payments ecosystem.”. She adds.
The platform made its preliminary debut in March 2025 with “Women in Payments”, a special International Women’s Day edition that featured four of Africa’s most formidable women in payments: Kemi Okusanya (CEO, Hydrogen), Titilola Shogaolu (Divisional CEO, Interswitch Financial Inclusion Services), Celestina Appeal (Head of Cards & E-Business, Zenith Bank Plc), and Eduofon Japhet (MD, Habaripay). Together, they shared compelling insights on resilience, leadership, and the unique challenges of building in Africa’s payments space.
The launch of Made-in-Payments reinforces Intreensic’s broader mission: to bridge the knowledge and talent gap within Africa’s fast-growing payments sector. Beyond storytelling and thought leadership, Intreensic delivers hands-on, practical education through its highly-rated online learning management system. Already serving learners from Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Botswana, and Namibia, the platform offers courses, interactive sessions, and real-world case studies designed to equip the next wave of fintech and payments talent with the skills to thrive.
Intreensic also plans to expand by establishing local hubs in key African markets, ensuring that access to knowledge, expertise, and specialized learning becomes even more widespread and inclusive.
