The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has constituted the Ondo State Football Agency Management Committee in a bid to revitalise state-owned football clubs.
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
Adeniyan said the committee comprised individuals with diverse expertise in sports management and will operate directly under the governor’s office.
The committee members include Divine Ogbonnaya (General Manager), Segun Joseph, Awosakin Iluyomade (Football Association Representative), Iyabo Ajanaku and Dapo Ajibade (Marketing Consultant).
He said, “The committee will manage the affairs of the Sunshine Stars Football Club, Sunshine Queens Football Club and Sunshine Stars Under-19.
“This development follows the Governor’s earlier promise to take necessary measures to ensure Sunshine Stars and Sunshine Queens’ swift return to the nation’s premier leagues.”
Adeniyan said the governor tasked the new management committee to conduct a comprehensive review of the football clubs’ challenges and reverse their downward trajectory.
