Former Anambra State Governor and ex-Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, made a dramatic return to the political limelight on Thursday, attending the All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus meeting at the State House, Abuja, just hours after his release from Kuje Correctional Facility.

Ngige, who had been remanded by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged corruption charges, was granted bail earlier in the day after meeting all conditions set by the court.

Eyewitnesses said the former governor arrived at the State House Conference Centre shortly after President Bola Tinubu, but was initially held back by security personnel before being cleared to join other APC leaders.

His entrance drew cheers from some presidential aides, highlighting his continued influence within the party.

Political analysts describe Ngige’s appearance at the caucus as a clear signal of his determination to remain active in APC politics, despite the legal hurdles.

The caucus meeting also saw participation from other high-profile figures, including six former PDP governors who reportedly attended the gathering, further underscoring the APC’s efforts to consolidate its ranks ahead of upcoming political events.

Ngige’s return has sparked discussions within political circles about his potential role in the party’s strategic plans, with some insiders hinting that the former minister may play a key role in bridging internal party divides.
