Anambra CP lauds security agencies for Yuletide success

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has commended police operatives and other security agencies for their dedication and professionalism during the Yuletide security operations across the state.

In a statement on Monday signed by  Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Commissioner stated that the cooperation between the Police Command, sister security agencies, and other stakeholders was key to the peaceful celebrations witnessed during the festive season.

“The synergy among the Police Command, sister security agencies, and other security stakeholders was instrumental to the peaceful celebration during the Yuletide,” he said.

The police chief also expressed appreciation to residents of Anambra for their vigilance and support, emphasising the importance of community partnership in ensuring effective policing.

“I further appreciate Ndi Anambra for their cooperation, vigilance, and support, noting that effective community partnership remains central to successful policing,” he added.

As the state ushers in the new year, CP Orutugu called on residents to deepen their cooperation with security agencies by providing timely and actionable information.

He reassured the public of the Command’s commitment to proactive policing and the protection of lives and property.

“The Anambra State Police Command remains steadfast in its resolve to sustain strategies that will continue to enhance public safety and security across the State,” he said.

PUNCH Online had earlier reported that, in a bid to ensure safety during the festive season, the Anambra State Command had banned the use of knockout bangers and other social explosives during Christmas and New Year celebrations.
