The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected allegations by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that civil servants are being coerced to participate in its ongoing electronic membership registration exercise, describing the claim as false, mischievous and politically motivated.

In a statement on Monday, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, CON, said the allegation was part of a coordinated attempt to discredit the ruling party’s digital reforms, adding that the ADC was “terrified” by the massive and voluntary turnout recorded nationwide.

Morka said millions of Nigerians had enrolled willingly on the party’s digital platform, driven by confidence in the Bola Tinubu administration and its Renewed Hope Agenda.

“The claim is entirely false and baseless. The overwhelming response to our registration exercise reflects the trust Nigerians repose in the APC and its leadership,” he said.

He accused the ADC of engaging in disinformation to undermine public confidence in the exercise, recalling a previous episode in which a purported APC membership slip allegedly linking a terrorist to the party was circulated online, which he described as a deliberate fabrication.

The APC spokesman disclosed that the registration exercise was extended from the initial January 31 deadline to February 8, 2026, due to what he described as unprecedented demand, not operational setbacks.

According to him, the surge in participation underscores the party’s growing popularity and its commitment to deepening internal democracy through technology-driven innovations.

“While the ADC continues to peddle misinformation, the APC remains focused on building a modern, inclusive and digitally enabled party structure,” Morka added.
