Nigerian Navy announces death of its Chief of Operations |

The Nigerian Navy has announced the death of Rear Admiral Bello Katagum, the Chief of Operations at the Naval Headquarters, who passed away in Egypt following a protracted illness.

The acting Director of Navy Information, Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, announced this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.

Folorunsho described the late Katagum as a respected senior officer whose career was marked by professionalism, strategic leadership, and unwavering commitment to national security.

He said the Chief of the Naval Staff, Officers, Ratings, and civilian personnel had expressed profound sorrow over the loss.

According to him, Katagum had been laid to rest according to Islamic rites.

He extended the navy’s heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues, describing his legacy as a source of inspiration for all personnel.
