Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kano State Command, have arrested 11 suspected hoodlums in Kumbotso Local Government Area for allegedly attacking the Mariri outpost with local weapons.

The suspects were said to have gone on a rampage after attending a local traditional festival in the area, attacking people on sight and dispossessing them of their belongings.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Friday.

He said the suspects also stormed a nearby Civil Defence outpost in Mariri, noting that the attack left one staff member injured.

“The hoodlums had also stormed a nearby Civil Defence outpost in Mariri and attacked the place, leaving a staff member fractured in the office.

“The incident took place on Wednesday 26th November, 2025 by 0100hrs,” Abdullahi said.

He added that weapons recovered from the suspects included six cutlasses/swords as well as scissors.

“The Corps intelligence and investigation department has completed all necessary investigations and the suspects will be charged in court,” he said.

Abdullahi reiterated the command’s commitment under the leadership of Commandant Mohammed Agalama to clamp down on criminal gangs bent on breaching public peace and vandalising critical assets and infrastructure.
