A fresh wave of agricultural and youth empowerment has commenced in Ondo North Senatorial District as businessman and grassroots philanthropist, Engr. Michael Abayomi Adeyanju, rolled out a new round of support initiatives for farmers and young people across the zone.

The programme, organised under the Imole Progressive Network (IPN) in partnership with Tex-Mex Royal Farms Ltd, kicked off on Saturday, November 29, 2025, with the first phase covering Owo and Ose Local Government Areas.

Farmers received items including hybrid maize seeds, hybrid cassava stems, herbicides, cutlasses, water pumps, and other essential farm chemicals and inputs, while selected youths also benefited from empowerment packages and training sessions.

According to organisers, the empowerment was based strictly on needs assessment conducted across the benefiting communities.

A beneficiary who received inputs on Saturday described the gesture as timely, saying:
“The empowerment given to us is based on needs assessment. It is exactly what we need as a farming society.”

The initiative has drawn commendations from community leaders, APC stakeholders and beneficiaries who described Adeyanju as a symbol of hope and development in Ondo North.

One of the stakeholders, Ajibade Ologunade Adeshina, praised Adeyanju’s consistency in supporting local communities, saying he has demonstrated “visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the prosperity of the people.”

According to him: “Engr. Mike Adeyanju is equipping and empowering farmers in Ondo North. This gesture shows his commitment to agricultural development and the welfare of his people.

Even though he is not the current senator, he has continually filled the gap, providing what our communities need to boost productivity and ensure food security.”

Ajibade added that the empowerment would contribute to poverty reduction, improved livelihoods, higher farm output, and long-term economic growth across the 72 wards of the zone.

He further described Adeyanju’s political movement ahead of 2027 as “a beacon of hope” for the district.

Another stakeholder, Akin Akinyemi, speaking on behalf of residents of Owo and Ose LGAs, conveyed heartfelt appreciation to Adeyanju through the IPN platform on Sunday, November 30.

He wrote: “On behalf of the good people of Owo and Ose LGAs, we appreciate our lovable DG, Engr. Mike Adeyanju, for his love for humanity.

Words are not enough to thank you. We pray God continues to guide and protect you, enrich your purse, and bless the entire IPN family.”

Akinyemi also applauded Hon. Chris Olorunfemi, IPN’s Secretary-General, for ensuring smooth coordination of the empowerment activities.

The empowerment programme is part of Adeyanju’s long-standing interventions aimed at strengthening agriculture, boosting food production, and supporting rural livelihoods in Ondo North.

With two more phases set to follow, the initiative is expected to reach all communities across the senatorial district before mid-December.

Residents say the continuous support from the philanthropist is restoring hope and bringing development closer to the people, especially in farming communities.
