In a timely move following a PLATFORM TIMES report on the silence of some state governments over end-of-year payouts, workers in Ogun State have received their annual end-of-year bonus.

PLATFORM TIMES reports that the  payment, approved by Governor Dapo Abiodun, underscores the administration’s commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of public servants across the state.

The State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya,  in a statement on Sunday, said the bonus, now a regular feature of the administration, is designed to appreciate workers for their dedication throughout the year and to acknowledge their contributions to the successful implementation of the “Building Our Future Together” agenda.

“This gesture cuts across all categories of state employees and is aimed at boosting morale and encouraging greater commitment to duty,” Onasanya said.

He added that workers welcomed the bonus, describing it as timely and generous.

According to the statement ,they also commended the government for the early payment of December 2025 salaries, noting that it provided vital support to settle bills and make adequate preparations for the festive season.

Earlier, PLATFORM TIMES had reported in a story titled “Ogun, Ekiti, Lagos, Ondo, Plateau, Imo, Others Silent on End-of-Year Bonus Amid Huge Revenues” that several state governments, including Ogun, had yet to announce any end-of-year bonus or 13th-month salary despite increased allocations from the Federation Account and growing internally generated revenue (IGR).

The report highlighted the frustration of civil servants across these states, many of whom were uncertain about festive payouts amid rising living costs.

Reacting to the PLATFORM TIMES report, Onasanya confirmed that the governor had released the bonus, applauding the administration’s focus on workers’ welfare.

“Governor Abiodun’s consistent support for public servants demonstrates his commitment to inclusive governance and the wellbeing of those who serve the state,” he said.
