Lagos elections result transmission: APC, SDP dey find leave to appeal court judgment

Di Lagos State chapters of di All Progressives Congress (APC) and Social Democratic Party, SDP don apply for leave to appeal di judgment of Federal High Court and to order di Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) make dem electronically transmit Saturday election results.

Remember say di Governorship and House of Assembly elections go hold on Saturday.

Justice Peter Lifu don deliver di judgment last week inside suit wey dey filed by di Labour Party and its Gubernatorial candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.

Also, Lifu follow dismiss application by SDP to dey joined for di  suit as an interested party.

NAN reports say di appellants – SDP and its three chieftains: Christopher Janet, Olatunji Ganiyu and Messrs Olufemi Olaniyi – dey ask di Court of Appeal make dem set aside di last week judgment of di Lagos Federal High Court, inside di suit marked FHC/L/CS/470/ 2023.

Also, dem want make di Court of Appeal declare say di lower court failure to hear and determine a preliminary objection wey dem file along with di joinder application dey wrong.

Respondents for inside di suit na Labour Party, Rhodes-Vivour and eighteen others.

On its part, di APC yarn say e go dey joined for di appeal as an interested party.

Also, di APC argue say based on di judgment for Suit No: FHC/AB/ABJ/CS/1454/2022 between Labour Party and INEC, di electoral commission dey at liberty to prescribe di manner wey election results fit dey transmitted by virtue of Sections 50(2) and 70(5) of the Electoral Act of 2022.

Both di APC and SDP dey find court order to stay di execution of last week judgment by Justice Lifu pending di hearing and determination of di appeal.
