There are brands that make clothes, and then there are brands that tell stories. Amina The Brand, the Nigerian label founded by the quietly magnetic Amina Shagari, has spent the past few years writing its own visual poetry, collection by collection, seam by seam.
And now, with its Cruise 2025 release titled “Blossom”, it is entering a new chapter of refinement, reach, and resonance.
Blossom is more than a name.
It’s a metaphor, a manifesto, a mood. Rooted in the slow, grounded process of growth, this collection traces the elegant arc of a brand and a woman that has stayed true to its heritage while gracefully expanding its horizons. “With Blossom,” Amina tells ThisDay Style, “we wanted to mirror the quiet power of flowers: how they grow in stillness, yet are drawn to the light.”
The collection itself feels like a garden at golden hour. The palette opens in whisper-soft pastels—blush, lilac, buttercream, petal white—before deepening into more sumptuous shades of rosewood, marigold, and twilight green. There’s a tenderness to it, but also a commanding grace: flowing maxis that move with oceanic ease, tailored co-ord sets that balance structure with softness, and fabrics that flirt with every passing breeze. “We wanted each piece to feel like air, like movement,” Amina explains. “But always rooted in intention.”
And intention is at the heart of everything Amina The Brand touches. From its first drop to its current status as a rising star of the global modest fashion scene, the label has consistently championed elegant restraint, detailed craftsmanship, and a kind of womanhood that is at once powerful and poetic.
This April, the brand will take that ethos global as it debuts Blossom at Modest Fashion Week Abu Dhabi, hosted at the iconic St. Regis Saadiyat Island on April 15. It’s a defining moment—one that places Shagari among the ranks of designers reshaping the narrative around what modest fashion can be: contemporary, cosmopolitan, and deeply rooted in identity.
“We are proud to announce that Amina The Brand is an exclusive designer for Abu Dhabi Modest Fashion Week,” Shagari shared via the brand’s official Instagram page, @aminathebrand. “This platform is a dream, and we are so grateful to our ATB community for helping us get here.”
There’s something deeply symbolic about this moment. Modest Fashion Week, a space that champions inclusivity, cultural pride, and unapologetic elegance, feels like the perfect stage for Blossom—a collection that honours the past, embraces the present, and leans gracefully toward the future.
In an industry often dominated by spectacle, Amina The Brand reminds us of the power of subtlety. Of garments that speak in whispers but leave a lasting impression. Of fashion that doesn’t just dress the body, but nurtures the spirit.
Blossom is more than a Cruise collection—it’s a declaration: Amina The Brand has arrived. And it’s blooming, beautifully.
