The Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) has applauded President Bola Tinubu’s appointment of Engr. Bayo Ojulari as the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

In a statement by its National President, Alhaji Yusuf Othman, NARTO described Ojulari and the new management team as “a round peg in a round hole”, expressing confidence in their ability to uphold the standards set by former GCEO Malam Mele Kyari.

The new team includes Roland Ewubare as Group Chief Operating Officer, Adedapo Segun as Group Chief Financial Officer, Olalekan Ogunleye as Executive Vice President of Gas, Power & New Energy, Udy Ntia as Executive Vice President of Upstream, Mumuni Dangazau as Executive Vice President of Downstream, Sophia Mbakwe as Executive Vice President of Business Services, and Adesua Dozie as Company Secretary & Chief Legal Officer.

NARTO highlighted Tinubu’s selection as a strategic move to sustain NNPCL’s positive momentum, noting Ojulari’s extensive industry experience.

The association also recognised the contributions of the new team, emphasising their potential to navigate challenges like fluctuating oil prices, production issues, and infrastructure gaps. NARTO urged the management to innovate amid these difficulties, particularly with the recent reactivation of national refineries, which are vital for NARTO’s product haulage operations.

With the national refineries recently resuming operations, the association highlighted the importance of sustaining these functionalities, as NARTO heavily relies on product haulage, the statement noted.

NARTO extended a hand of fellowship, pledging to strengthen its long-standing partnership with NNPCL under Ojulari’s leadership.
