Elumelu welcomes Azogu to Heirs Life board

Chairman of Heirs Life Assurance, Mr. Tony Elumelu, has officially welcomed Callista Azogu to the Board of Heirs Life Assurance as an Independent Non-Executive Director. Heirs Life is the specialist life insurance subsidiary of Heirs Insurance Group.

Commenting on the appointment, Elumelu stated: “We are pleased to welcome Callista to the Board of Heirs Life Assurance. She brings formidable Board experience, a commitment to excellence, strong corporate governance, and a track record of delivering long-term value. I am confident that she will further strengthen our leadership, as we continue transforming the insurance industry with innovative, accessible, and inclusive solutions.”

According to a statement by Nimiweremi Selekere, Communications Executive at Heirs General, Azogu is a seasoned business leader with over 35 years of multifaceted experience spanning finance, operations, human resources, and executive management.

She was formerly the Deputy Managing Director of Nigerian Agip Oil Company Limited, where she played a critical role in stakeholder engagement with government institutions and steered several high-stakes commercial negotiations. In addition, she was the pioneer Finance and Control Manager at Eni Ghana Exploration & Production Limited. Azogu currently serves on the boards of several corporate organisations, offering deep expertise in stakeholder engagement, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
