Akintayo John Faniran, the charismatic and memorable runner-up of Big Brother Africa Season 9, has revealed why he decided to undergo cosmetic enhancements, viewing them as an extension of his artistic expression.

During an interview with Nollywood on Radio, the actor and businessman, widely known as Tayo, didn’t shy away from detailing the procedures he opted for, framing them as a personal journey of growth and self-discovery.

“I’m guilty. I did my teeth, my teeth are veneers. You know, when people see me, they are like your teeth are so white. You know, I don’t want people to see me and be like ‘God did for you,’ I did this myself. I have veneers. These are like gemstones; they put it in your mouth, and it’s luxury. It’s part of the things that make me feel like I’m growing.”

Beyond his dazzling smile, Tayo revealed further aesthetic tweaks. “I did my beards as well, I had a lower beard line. I also worked on my hairline. I’m an artist; I have tattoos, too. My cars, I’ve changed their colours maybe five times each. I just look at something and be like, how will this look in yellow, how will it be in green, then I try it. It’s a problem but I am used to it.”

The Gangs of Lagos star also offered a nuanced perspective on more significant body alterations. “The world is changing, and you have to change your mindset; otherwise, you’ll go crazy. BBL and those kind of stuff, when it came, at first I didn’t like it, I didn’t think it made sense, but today I understand why it makes sense.”
