The wedding of the daughter of Iyabo Ojo, Pricscilla, to her Tanzanian beau, Juma Mkambala, known as Juma Jux, is still trending on social media. But what is equally drawing wide acclaim is the exuberant display of the creativity of Nigerian designers, who added to the glitz and glamour of the day by the fantastic fashion items worn by their Nigerian female customers.
In simple, plain language, the fashion subsector of Nigeria’s creative industry really used Priscilla’s wedding to hold high a torch that showcased the country’s potential to match the best global labels in creative couture.
Nigerian designers paid attention to details in making the impeccable outfits worn by the ladies privileged to attend the wedding.
The exquisite styles were a perfect fit for the high society wedding. The colour combinations ranged from earth-stone brown, burnt orange, onions and fuchsia pink to gazetted-silver.
The gowns, some with well cosseted dramatic floor-length frocks, were paired with magical matching fascinators, embellished with various appliques, brimstones and beads.
