Fast rising Afrobeats star, Cross David Idukomose aka Kwate, has dropped a new song, Usain Bolt, which hits all major music platforms for downloads today, May 23.
The Edo State-born singer, who emerged as Dynamic Artiste of The Year 2025 at the 11th edition of Rainbow Hall of Fame Awards, released the new single as a follow-up to his trending EP.
Kwate, who exhibited his musical dexterity gathered over the years, produced the song by himself. And he has been excited since its release, as the work has been gaining acceptance on a daily basis.
The artiste enthused: “Usain Bolt is gathering momentum currently. I give God the glory. I appreciate my team who is working so hard to see that all my songs travel far and receive needed attention. My new song has started winning souls. This makes me very excited. I thank everyone who supported the brand.”
He added, “The story behind the song is a struggle. I later conquered my failure and so I sing about it to elevate and party at the same time. This track means a lot to me, and I believe it would be a great fit for playlists.”
Already, music critics are giving the song a rave review, including fans in the Diaspora who obviously can’t take their ears off it.
Top music journalist and Kwate’s imagemaker, Adegbola Shehu Tijani, has this to say about the song: “Usain Bolt captured lots of artsy minds. The track is a blend of Afrobeats and Hausa-piano with influences from Kizz Daniel and Ruger. It’ll definitely make the top songs list of various rating platforms.”
