As Nigeria celebrates Children’s Day today the 27th of May 2025, Okachi Foundation has laid out major plans for the next phases of their actions. The Founder, Faith Morey has emphasized that, “In 2025, we are actively engaged in a number of bold, purpose driven initiatives designed to both meet urgent needs and invest in long-term transformation.”
She highlights that a Yearly Sponsorship Program for straight-A students from Nursery 2 to Primary 6 would come into play rewarding excellence and reinforcing the value of hard work.
Lifetime Educational Sponsorships for Orphans in the schools OCF has adopted ensuring no child is left behind simply because they’ve lost their family. The full renovation of all classrooms in Sangana, transforming learning spaces from overlooked to inspiring.
Also is the launch of their first inter-school competitions, including spelling bees and debates between Sangana and Port Harcourt Primary helping children from public schools build confidence, think critically, and compete with pride at state level and even against private institutions.
She further added that, “Our continued commitment to distributing uniforms, sandals, backpacks, and essential learning materials to over 8,000 pupils annually would also be done. As well as minor renovations at Port Harcourt Primary School to improve basic infrastructure and the procurement of 500 school desks, because no child should learn while sitting on a broken bench or bare floor.”
For OCF these are not just projects they are investments in children’s self-worth, in teachers’ morale, and in the future of Nigeria.
