South Korean actor Choi Jung-Woo dies at 68

South Korean actor, Choi Jung-Woo has died aged 68.

In an announcement, his agency Bless ENT said he passed away on Tuesday morning, May 27.

“The exact cause of death has not yet been confirmed,” the agency said.

However, South Korea’s Yonhap news agency reported that the veteran actor suffered from depression and panic disorder.

Choi’s wake is being held at Gimpo Woori Hospital and his funeral is set to take place on Thursday morning.

Born in 1957, Choi had an illustrious career spanning nearly five decades.

He made his debut in 1975 with the play “The Life of an Actor”.

He subsequently worked with theatre companies and was active as both a stage actor and voice actor.

He also featured in “God’s Quiz” series, “Two Cops,” “Public Enemy 2,” “Sympathy for Lady Vengeance,” “The Chaser,” “Brilliant Legacy,” “Prosecutor Princess,” “Gumiho: Tale of the Fox’s Child,” “Midas,” “My Daughter Seo Young,” “Master’s Sun,” “Call It Love,” “Tyrant,” and “Who Is She!”

Choi’s final role was in the recently concluded historical drama “The Tale Of Lady Ok”.
