Exhibitors at the annual Food & Beverage West Africa show have applauded the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and the Nigerian government for making policies capable of providing the best for mass consumption.

This appraisal was stated by exhibition manager, Brad Smith while representing his outfit, BtoB event, during the 3-day show which commenced today at Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Having allocated stands for over 350 exhibitors who displayed their goods and services before thousands of guests, Smith applauded the Nigerian government for approving the show, which serves as a platform for businesses to meet, network and forge partnerships with the key players across the continent.

He hailed NAFDAC for monitoring the standard of food before consumption. Smith, however, acknowledged the body has done a great job in ensuring the distribution of unhygienic food becomes history.

“I can assure you we have no plan to take the hosting right away from Nigeria. The government have been really supportive towards our mission and vision. We’ve staged quite a number of editions here in Nigeria and we’d never regret choosing the country above other West African countries. Guests and admirers all know this is the only opportunity to meet hundreds of International food and beverage suppliers who are looking for business partners across West Africa.”

“Our last edition saw a record number of visitors, including many from neighbouring countries such as Ghana, Benin, Togo, Senegal and Cameroon, among others. I’ll love to state that all foods being imported for exhibition are NAFDAC approved. The regulatory body has done well in ensuring all exhibitors showcase quality products for human consumption. Dealing with the body is one of the best decisions we’ve made, and they’ve been serving as a backbone to we the organisers. The show has been a huge success, fostering new partnerships, business deals and unparalleled networking opportunities,” he stated.

In a similar vein, other exhibitors including US-based IMEX PLC, Tropical Sun Foods, Venus Processing and Packaging, AL RHEA General Trading, St Patrick’s Distillery, ITPC Lagos, Hype Energy and others all hailed the organisers.
