As many celebrities face public scrutiny over their personal lives, Nollywood actress, Chinenye Uyanna is choosing peace, purpose, and patience over pressure especially when it comes to marriage.

In a recent chat with Saturday Sun, the elegant Anambra-born screen diva opened up about her recent birthday celebration and why she refuses to rush into matrimony despite societal expectations.

“I’m most thankful for life. Just being alive is a blessing I don’t take for granted. 2025 hasn’t been the easiest ride; there’ve been ups and downs, but through it all, God has been faithful. I’m thankful for love, family, and especially for how far I’ve come in my career this year. I celebrated my birthday on June 6, and it made me pause and reflect.  We’re just halfway into the year, and I’ve already worked on several amazing movie projects—each one stretching me and helping me grow as an actor. It’s been a busy, fulfilling few months, and I’m excited about everything that’s still ahead. There’s a lot more to come, and I’m truly grateful for the journey so far,” she stated.

When asked about societal expectations around marriage, and pressure from home, the Breaking Free star actress said, “From my home, no, there’s no pressure. I believe my parents know that when the right guy comes, it will happen naturally. I’m not being pushed into marriage because they understand me. Deep down, I know they want me to have a home, and honestly, I want that too. But in this thing called marriage, I don’t want to rush or make mistakes. I want to build a perfect home. That’s the main reason I’m still waiting. Even though people say there’s no perfect man, I know what I’m looking for. So, no pressure from home—just love, support, and understanding.”
