Veteran filmmaker, Tunde Kelani is set to hit cinemas nationwide with another Nollywood drama set against a backdrop of tension and personal secrets. This comes three years after his break from the scenes. Titled Cordelia, the bold new film is a gripping tale of power, betrayal, and the heavy price of silence that will leave one questioning everything.

The movie is based on a novel by renowned Nigerian playwright and scholar, Professor Femi Osofisan. According to Kelani, Cordelia delves into the delicate themes of silence, power, truth, and survival—exploring the emotional and political aftermath of historical events through the eyes of ordinary people.

“Cordelia is finally ready for cinema audiences,” Kelani remarked during the unveiling captured in a post. “This is not just the release of a film—it is the celebration of a journey that began with a powerful story on the page and comes alive today on the screen.” He credits the original score, composed by Michael Ogunlade, in partnership with the Music Department of the University of Delaware, USA.

Slated for release July 18, Cordelia is already generating buzz as one of the most anticipated Nigerian film releases of the year. Starring Keppy Ekpeyong, Femi Adebayo, Kelechi Udegbe, Yvonne Jegede, Omowuni Dada, and a host of other sterling cast, “Cordelia doesn’t just tell a story, it provokes a conversation and forces you to confront your own silence.”
