A political group, Progressive Vanguard, has thrown its weight behind the 2027 governorship ambition of Hon. Sharafa Tunji Ishola, hailing him as a seasoned administrator with the pedigree to steer Ogun State toward accelerated development.

At a strategic meeting held on Tuesday, July 16, in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, the group—which draws membership from across the 20 local government areas of the state—formally endorsed Ishola, citing his extensive experience in public service.

Responding to the endorsements, Ishola, who served as Minister of Mines and Steel Development and Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, thanked the group for its unwavering support, promising not to betray their confidence.

“I’m deeply humbled by your commitment and faith in me,” he said. “Together, we’ll take Ogun State to the next level. I won’t let you down.”

The group concluded the meeting with a renewed pledge to intensify grassroots mobil
