Gospel singer, Yetunde Praise, has revealed that the heartfelt feedback from her fans motivates her to push boundaries and create more impactful music.
Speaking passionately at the recently concluded DEW Praise Concert held at RCCG Peace Sanctuary, LP10 Abuleegba, she emphasised the significance of transforming lives through her craft rather than merely chasing streaming numbers.
The event, which drew a large congregation of gospel enthusiasts and music lovers alike, was a testament to her rising influence.
She expressed her commitment to producing music that elevates the gospel both in praise and worship saying, “My direction is to lift the name of Jesus higher and to see souls come to Christ through our sound.”
She also highlighted the growing presence of gospel music in mainstream charts, citing notable artistes such as Gaise Baba with his hit “No Turning Back,” BBO, Mercy Chinwo and Moses Bliss among others. “It’s inspiring to see gospel sounds dominating platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, Audiomack, and Shazam. Gospel is no longer confined; it’s making waves in the secular space and reaching more hearts,” she said.
“It’s not just about the streams; it’s about the lives that are touched and transformed by the message of Christ through our music. We were called solely for that purpose; after that, other things can follow,” she added.
Looking ahead, Yetunde Praise announced plans to release a new body of work in October, coinciding with her birthday, to celebrate God’s goodness and further establish her presence in the music industry. She also expressed gratitude for her mentor, Oyindamola Adejumo, whom she described as a guiding light in her journey.
