Former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, has declared that he is fully prepared to lead Ogun State, as work on his 62-page governorship manifesto nears completion.

Isola made the disclosure during an interactive session with members of Good Governance Advocates (GoGA), a socio-political group, held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

He stated that while the document, which outlines his vision and policy direction for Ogun State ahead of the 2027 election, is already substantially developed, it remains open to constructive input.

“My 62-page manifesto is almost ready, but we’re still open to ideas and contributions that will enrich it. Good governance requires collective thinking,” he told the gathering.

Reflecting on his political journey, Isola recounted his rise from a local government chairman to becoming a federal minister and later Nigeria’s envoy to the UK. “You think big and start small,” he said, urging young politicians to remain focused and purposeful.

In a subtle dig at potential rivals, the Egba-born diplomat said anyone eyeing the governorship seat must first establish their roots in the state. “Let every aspirant show their indigenous origin so that the people can assess their suitability for Ogun’s leadership,” he declared.

Isola said his experience across local, national, and international platforms has adequately prepared him for the task of governing Ogun State. “I have seen governance from all angles. I’m ready to serve my people with integrity and vision,” he said.

In his remarks, the Chairman of GoGa, Mudashiru Olanrewaju said the group is a non-governmental organisation and has not relationship with any government in the state .

Olanrewaju explained why they chose Isola for the position of governorship, saying, the former envoy has been a man of integrity and well grounded for the number one seat.
