A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Joe Korka-Waadah has slammed a strong loyalist of President Bola Tinubu, Alwan Hassan for his recent alleged anti-comment on the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.

Korka-Waadah, a Canada-based Nigerian politician and political management consultant, stated that the ill comment was not born out of a genuine political argument but an unnecessary attack on a man who has in years past proved his commitment to the development of the nation, as a former federal minister, governor and Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly.

Recently, during his appearance on Channels TV’s political programme, Hassan while discrediting Peter Obi’s interest in the 2027 presidential elections, stated that he would not support Obi nor Amaechi whom he claimed had allegedly working under the influence of his wife.

The former Rivers Governor, Amaechi had recently, in recounting his success, praised his wife for her unending support to his recorded successes.

But in the Channels TV interview, Hassan alleged that Amaechi had given himself away by saying that he was not in control of his family but was fed by his wife, insisting that a man who depends on his wife to run his family is not worthy of Nigeria’s number one seat.

In his words Hassan said “Is it those ones that are saying their wives are taking care of them? We cannot hand over this country to such people, to men that are being fed by their wives.

“You know that somebody was here and said his wife is an entrepreneur, we want a man that is a man of his house. We want a man that is in charge of his house. We don’t want a man that a woman is feeding.

“We will not, no, no, we will not hand over a country to a man that is being fed by his wife. A man who is being fed by his wife”.

Hassan who severally predicted President Tinubu’s victory in the 2027 presidential election, discredited Peter Obi’s for alleged involvement in importation of alcoholic drinks to the country, boasting that the North will not vote for him.

Meanwhile, Korka-Waadah, Executive Director, Compassionate Heart Foundation of Canada, has criticised the alleged comment by Hassan, saying that it is inhumane to malign a women who is responsible and have been supportive of the husband.

Speaking with journalists yesterday, the Ogoni born Korka-Waadah who is a staunch supporter of Amaechi said “Is absolutely unacceptable and is wrong in a civilised society, culture, for a man to blackmail a woman for whatever reason trying to score a political point because the woman’s supportive of the husband, because she is an industrialist.

The truth is Amaechi met her as an industrialist. She is who she is right from the University days. She is always thriving in business. She is not a lady that likes white collar job, otherwise she is the wife of a former Speaker, former governor and former Minister.”

He continued that “Her (Mrs Judith Amaechi) calling is to empower people, she’s been all her life to better the lives of the most impoverished in the society. So, is absolutely regretful for a man to denigrate a woman just because she is very supportive of her husband”.

Korka-Waadah argued “You don’t drag a family into political space when it is unnecessary. I mean there is no campaign, and even if there is campaign is unacceptable. If someone brings his family into political discuss he would not appreciate that. Is taking too far, scoring unnecessary point, that goes to show the kind of family he has. It shows he is very oppressive at home and doesn’t allow his wife freedom”.

He said “Ordinarily, one wouldn’t dignify such a silly comment, but it is necessary to restate the obvious and correct this absurdity by a man who delights in ensuring that women are subservient to their male counterpart.

He rather would have said Amaechi would make a good president because he has a supportive wife and family”. Korka-Waadah added that the Northern APC chieftain “went too far and he has to be called to order”.
