The Ogun State Government has issued another quit notice to a property linked to former Governor Gbenga Daniel, this time in Ijebu-Ode, intensifying the protracted dispute over the alleged violation of urban planning laws.
The latest notice, served by the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority and sighted by PLATFORM TIMES, directs the owner or occupier of the Ijebu-Ode property to vacate the premises within a stipulated period or risk demolition.
According to the notice, the order follows earlier contravention and stop-work directives issued to the property owner.
The agency warned that valuables should be removed within the deadline, as it would not be liable for any loss or damage when demolition begins.
“This is pursuant to the Ogun State Urban and Regional Planning and Development Law No. 61 of 2022 and the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Regulation 2022,” the quit notice stated.
The development comes barely weeks after the state government served similar quit, sealing, and demolition notices on several Daniel-owned properties in Sagamu, before later withdrawing them.
On Wednesday, the government extended the deadline for affected property owners to submit relevant documents for verification.
However, Daniel, now a serving senator representing Ogun East, has taken legal action against Governor Dapo Abiodun and other state officials, seeking an order restraining them from demolishing his properties.
The case is currently before the court, adding a fresh layer of legal and political tension to the dispute between the former governor and the incumbent administration.
