The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has announced the promotion of 243 staff members, including nine Deputy Directors who have now risen to the rank of Director.

The Governing Board approved the elevation of 30 Assistant Directors to Deputy Directors, 35 Chiefs to Assistant Directors, and ratified the promotion of 169 other staff across various grade levels.

Those promoted to Director include; Mrs. Moji Jimoh, Coordinator of the Abuja Liaison Office; Dr. Odunayo Ani, Director of Internal Audit; Mrs. Nneka Obianyor, Special Adviser to the DG; Mrs. Biodun Fatade, Director of Procurement; Dr. Oma Ofodile; Ms. Gloria Anyasodo; Mr. Abdulahi Yelwa; Mr. Umar Buba; and Mr. Umar Ibrahim Sidi.

Congratulating the newly promoted officers, NIMASA Director General, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to staff welfare and a transparent promotion system anchored on merit.

“Our administration is committed to improving staff welfare. This promotion exercise is strictly merit-based, and we expect staff to reciprocate by rededicating themselves to higher productivity. We will continue to prioritize staff welfare, while counting on your commitment to the ideals of the Agency in helping Management actualize its mandate,” Mobereola said.

He urged the officers to see their elevation as a call to greater service, stressing that the Agency’s achievements depend largely on the dedication of its workforce.

“See your elevation as motivation to higher performance,” he charged.

With this round of promotions, the NIMASA boss said the agency aims to strengthen its operational efficiency and drive better service delivery in Nigeria’s maritime sector.
