The Nigerian Association of Insurance and Pension Editors (NAIPE) is set to host its 10th annual national conference on September 16, 2025 in Lagos.

It promises to bring together some of the heaviest players in the insurance and pension sectors to dissect and reshape the regulatory and operational frameworks driving both industries.

Former Commissioner for Insurance, Mr. Sunday Thomas, will chair the  event, while the current Commissioner for Insurance, Mr. Olusegun Omosehin, will serve as the special guest of honour.

Also expected at the high-level gathering are the Director-General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), Mrs. Omolara Oloworaran; the Chairman of Rex Insurance Limited, Mr. Ike Chioke; and the Managing Director/CEO of Arthur Stevens Asset Management Limited, Mr. Olatunde Amolegbe, who will deliver the keynote address.

Themed “Strengthening Pension and Insurance Framework for a Better Economy,” the conference promises to be a robust platform where industry leaders and practitioners will cross-fertilize ideas on how to strengthen the financial services ecosystem, particularly insurance and pensions, in support of Nigeria’s economic growth.

The Chairman of the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), Mr. Kunle Ahmed, and the President of the Pension Fund Operators Association of Nigeria (PenOp), Mr. Christopher Bajowa, will join other stakeholders to lend their voices to the conversation.

The event will not be restricted to regulators and operators alone. Representatives of government agencies, labour unions such as the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), the Trade Union Congress (TUC), the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), as well as students, advocacy groups, civil society organisations, and other financial sector stakeholders are also expected to participate.

Speaking on the significance of the event, the Chairperson of NAIPE, Mrs. Nkechi Naeche-Esezobor, said the conference theme was carefully chosen in line with the association’s 10th anniversary milestone.

“In line with the 10th year anniversary of the conference, the theme is apt as it will avail stakeholders the opportunity to analyse the various frameworks guiding the insurance and pension sectors, while proffering solutions to challenges that have hindered smooth implementation of these frameworks,” she explained.

According to her, the platform will not only assess how well existing policies have worked but will also open the floor for innovative solutions that can drive broader financial inclusion and safeguard the future of millions of Nigerians who depend on pension and insurance schemes.

With the presence of regulators, operators, investors, and end-users, the 2025 edition of the NAIPE conference is expected to go beyond dialogue to chart a roadmap for actionable reforms that can reposition Nigeria’s insurance and pension systems as veritable tools for national economic development.
