Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia of Benue State has sent his heartfelt condolences to his Kogi State counterpart, Governor Usman Ododo, over the death of his father, Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo.

The father of the governor, who was 83 years old when he died during a brief illness, has already been buried in Okene, Kogi State, according to Islamic rites.

Governor Alia also extended his commiseration to the entire people of Kogi State over the passing of their illustrious son and community leader, who was fondly loved and respected by his people.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, he described the loss of a parent as painful, but urged his colleague to take solace in the fact that his late father instilled leadership qualities in him during his lifetime, and was also endeared to many with his devotion to Islamic tenets and community service.

He prayed to the Almighty God to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and grant his soul eternal rest.
