Kaduna NUJ chairman loses wife |

Hajara Alabelewe, the wife of the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council, Alhaji Abdulgafar Alabelewe, is dead.

She died in the early hours of Sunday at about 1am in a hospital in Kaduna, the Kaduna State capital, following what was described as a brief illness.

Confirming the incident, the NUJ chairman said his wife died as a result of malaria.

Until her death, she was a staff member of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Kaduna State.

According to the family, Janaza (funeral) prayers will take place by 2pm on Sunday at Ansarul Islam Juma’at Mosque, Abakpa, by Lugard Roundabout, Kaduna.
