Nigerian singer, Peter ‘Mr P’ Okoye has announced the relaunch of his 2021 debut solo album, The Prodigal.
He disclosed this in a message shared on Facebook on Tuesday.
Mr P’s 16-track debut album released on his PClassic Label featured Tiwa Savage, Simi, Teni, Wande Coal, Tamar Braxton, Singah, Mohombi, DJ Switch, and OvieKelz.
He stated that the album’s initial release “was caught right in the middle of some distractions”, hence the decision to relaunch.
In the message addressed to his fans called Team P, the singer said, “When THE PRODIGAL dropped in 2021, it was caught right in the middle of the some distractions, and the album never truly got the chance to breathe.
“That’s why it still shocks me when so many of you tell me you’re only just discovering some of those songs for the very first time!
“But guess what? We are relaunching THE PRODIGAL.”
He said the album’s relaunch would come “stronger, louder, and with NEW music, remixes, and refixes”.
He expressed gratitude to Team P for standing by him through the acrimonious breakup of the Psquare group.
“Through all the noise, false narratives, and attempts to discredit my efforts, you never turned your back on me.
“You held me down, you believed in me, and for that, I remain forever grateful. Truth is, I didn’t walk this journey alone… I walked it with YOU!” Mr P stated.
He promised to never stop giving his fans his best through the music.
