Burna Boy, Davido, Shallipopi, Juma Jux lead nomination list – The Sun Nigeria

Nigerian musicians Burna Boy, Davido, Rema, Ayra Starr, and Shallipopi have dominated the 2025 edition of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).

Davido and Burna Boy are both nominated in five categories on the list, which includes artists from around Africa.

Burna Boy’s popular single ‘No Sign of Weakness’ and Davido’s latest album ‘5ive’ were nominated for Album of the Year.

They also secured Song of the Year and Best Collaboration nominations for their successful tunes.

DJ Maphorisa of South Africa received five nominations, including Album of the Year and Best African DJ, matching the two Nigerian titans.

El Grande Toto, a Moroccan rapper, received five nominations for his songs ‘Salgoat’ and ‘Diplomatico’.

Shallipopi, a Nigerian fast-rising street-pop performer, received four nominations, including Song of the Year and Artist of the Year.

Similarly, Tanzanian artiste, Diamond Platnumz continued his dominance in East Africa with four nominations.

While South African songstress, Tyla earned four nominations. Tanzanian musician, Juma Jux earned three nominations including Song of the Year with his song ‘Ololufe mi’

Other Nigerian stars, Rema and Ayra Starr also get three nominations each.
