A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Shina Peller, has called on Nigerians, particularly the people of Oyo North Senatorial District and Oyo state, to take active part in the ongoing pre-registration exercise for collection of Permanent Voter Card (PVC).
Peller made the plea in a statement released on Friday where he reminded Nigerians that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially launched the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in preparation for the 2027 general election.
Emphasizing how powerful PVC is to the electorate, Peller explained that it is a vital tool through which the masses could make their voice heard in a democratic setting particularly as the 2027 elections timeline gets closer.
Peller also urged Nigerians to promptly undergo the required pre-registration exercise for the collection of PVC
The former lawmaker stressed how crucial it is for every eligible Nigerian to participate in the electoral process, adding that PVC is a tool required to enable them select the leaders who will shape the future of the nation across all levels of government.
Peller noted: “Today, I bring you an important message regarding our democratic rights and responsibilities,”.
“The CVR is not just for those who are voting for the first time; it is also open to anyone aged 18 and above who needs to register as a new voter, as well as those looking to collect, transfer or replace their PVCs.
“I cannot stress enough how crucial it is for each and every one of you to participate in this process; your vote matters, and it is a vital tool in ensuring that we have leaders who truly represent our interests and aspirations.”
