Chito Mark celebrates 45 years as milliner

Chito Mark carved a niche for herself in the Nigerian  fashion value chain when she set up Graces Hats, which became popular among women and synonymous with elegance. It produced fashion headgears such as fascinators, turbans and gele.

 

The soft spoken, stylish entrepreneur, whose factory is located in  Ikeja, Lagos, yesterday celebrated 45 years of being in millinery business.

Chito Mark’s designs have gained international recognition, with her hats being worn by prominent figures, including former US First Lady Michelle Obama.

Her creations have also been featured in various exhibitions and fashion shows, showcasing her innovative approach to millinery.

Chito Mark’s journey into millinery began after completing her secondary school education. With an innate passion for woven work, she started experimenting with hat-making, eventually developing her unique style.
