Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has cautioned security agencies in the state to steer clear of political bias and remain professional in the discharge of their duties.

Adeleke, who made the call on Thursday during the decoration of his Aide-De-Camp (ADC), DSP Ahmed Abdulraman, at the Government House in Osogbo, said the neutrality of law enforcement officers was critical to sustaining peace and stability in the state.

The governor stressed that Osun, being the home state of President Bola Tinubu, must not be turned into a political battlefield, urging security agencies to provide a level playing field for all political actors.

“We should continue to maintain neutrality. This is the home state of Mr President. Mr President belongs to all of us. Osun should not be turned into a battleground,” Adeleke warned.

While commending the Nigeria Police Force for what he described as consistent professionalism, Adeleke lauded the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, for their commitment to discipline and due process.

He further praised the synergy among security formations in Osun, insisting that the peace of the state must never be compromised by political partisanship.

Congratulating his ADC on his new rank, the governor described Abdulraman as an exemplary officer whose loyalty and discipline reflected the ideals of the Nigeria Police Force.

“I am happy today about the promotion of my ADC. He is a good representative of the police,” Adeleke said.

In his remarks, the Osun Commissioner of Police, Gotan, congratulated the newly decorated officer, urging him to remain steadfast in professionalism and dedication to duty.

According to the CP, promotions come with added responsibilities, which must be matched with discipline and service to the people.
