Award-winning Nigerian singer and songwriter Adekunle Gold has officially announced the release of his highly anticipated sixth studio album, titled Fuji, scheduled to drop on October 3, 2025.

Throughout the history of Afrobeats, Fuji music has remained a vital yet often overlooked influence. From 9ice’s era-defining Gongo Aso in 2008 to Asake’s genre-blending global success since 2022, Fuji has consistently played a supporting role in shaping Nigerian soundscapes without receiving full recognition.

With Fuji, Adekunle Gold is set to change that narrative. Known for weaving Yoruba indigenous sounds into his music, the superstar now takes a bold step forward by dedicating an entire body of work to Fuji music and culture. His recent singles, Coco Money featuring Lojay and Bobo featuring Shoday, gave subtle hints of the genre’s presence, but the announcement of an album titled Fuji marks his most daring reinvention yet.

Beyond music, Fuji represents a lifestyle—embodying Yoruba fashion, opulent street carnivals, colourful live performances, and cultural pride. By choosing to spotlight Fuji at the height of his career, Adekunle Gold has the potential to bring the genre, and the culture surrounding it, into the global mainstream.

“Fuji is more than just music; it’s an identity, a heritage. This album is my tribute to a sound and culture that has always been with us but hasn’t always had its rightful place in the spotlight,” he said.

With Adekunle Gold’s artistry, international appeal, and fearless creativity, Fuji is poised to ignite conversations, set trends, and elevate Yoruba cultural heritage to new heights.

Fuji will be available worldwide on October 3, 2025 across all major streaming platforms.
