Nollywood actress, Diane Nyeche is a striking beauty who is steadily carving a niche for herself in Nigeria’s bustling entertainment industry.

In a recent chat with Saturday Sun, the Biochemistry graduate revealed why financial stability comes first in her relationships.

She recounted how her mother’s second marriage turned sour, leaving lasting scars on her outlook toward love.

“My mom got married to the wrong man as her second husband. The man was after her money. She was diabetic and later developed high blood pressure. She was not fortunate. She looked at her life and asked, ‘What am I living for?’ Sadly, she passed away. I was hustling in Nollywood then, hoping to succeed and take my mom abroad, but unfortunately, she died before I could. That experience taught me a lot,” she said. Diane admitted that her mother’s struggles, combined with her own early challenges in Nollywood, shaped her perception of relationships.

“If you are a man and you want to misbehave, I just block you. I don’t even put my mind on any man because of my mom’s experience.”

When asked if her mother’s ordeal has made her afraid of marriage, the movie star said otherwise.

“I’m not scared of anybody because I’m mature enough. From my mom’s experience, I’ve seen enough. If love comes, fine, but if it goes sour, everybody goes their way. My ideology about life is that I don’t kill myself over anything. When I die, they’re not going to bury me with anybody or anything. So, when something is going to stress me, I push it out of my life and move on. That’s how I live, and I think that’s why I’ll live long by God’s grace,” she said.

For Diane, love without financial stability is simply unsustainable.

“In a relationship, you must have money. If you don’t, I’ll get tired of you. Once there’s no money, I’m done. Once you are not spending, I don’t have anything to do with you. The communication will just be dry,” she stated.
