The Nigeria-Britain Association (N-BA) has announced plans to host a special celebration in London, UK on Saturday, October 4 to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary.
The event will bring together Nigerians and friends of Nigeria in the UK to celebrate the country’s rich cultural heritage while also reinforcing the long-standing bond of friendship between Nigeria and Britain.
Themed “Nigeria and the UK: Building Bridges, Creating Futures,” the event is one of the association’s flagship international engagements aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and showcasing Nigeria’s enduring legacy. The programme will feature cultural highlights, networking opportunities, and engagements that emphasize collaboration between both nations.
Speaking about the event, the President of the N-BA Mr. Sola Oyetayo stated that “this year’s event is the fifth consecutive edition and it is a continuation of a tradition that fosters the age-long relationship between the UK and Nigeria.”
“Each edition has afforded us the opportunity for corporate and cultural exchange with our existing partners and to reach out to new ones,” he added.

This edition, Oyetayo said, will have the newly installed Patron Chief Emeka Anyaoku who previously served as Secretary-General of the Commonwealth gracing the event for the first time.
“He will take the lead in the courtesy visits that are a usual hallmark of the event.”
Other eminent Nigerians and dignitaries, including representatives of the Nigerian and British governments, diplomats, captains of industry, artistes, and members and associates of the N-BA will also be in attendance.
The association also announced that Air Peace, Fidelity Bank Plc, Dangote Industries Limited and BK90 Restaurant and Lounge have thrown their weight behind the event as corporate sponsors.
