No fewer than 150 secondary school prefects from Abeokuta South and North Local Government Areas, as well as schools across Ogun West Senatorial District, are set to undergo intensive leadership and civic engagement training on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
The one-day training, billed to hold at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, is designed to equip young leaders with practical skills in ethical responsibility, teamwork, and community leadership.
According to a statement jointly signed by the programme coordinators, Dr. Sunny Phillips and Hon. Gboyega Isiaka, the initiative is part of the Community Service Project of the Abuja Leadership Centre, a TETFund Centre of Excellence in Public Governance and Leadership at the University of Abuja.
Phillips and Isiaka said the programme would expose the students to “core leadership principles and values that promote integrity, accountability and service to humanity,” urging participants to take full advantage of the opportunity.
They advised the students to attend promptly, listen attentively, and prepare mentally to take up future leadership responsibilities within their schools and communities.
The coordinators added that the clinic aligns with the Abuja Leadership Centre’s vision of raising a new generation of value-driven leaders capable of transforming Nigeria’s governance landscape through ethical conduct and civic consciousness.
