Tango Brook Technologies Limited, one of Nigeria’s leading innovators in digital payment solutions, has attained the prestigious ISO 27001:2022 certification — a globally recognised standard for information security management systems (ISMS).
The certification, announced on Monday, marks a major milestone in the company’s efforts to strengthen data protection, enhance customer trust, and uphold international best practices in information security.
Coming just weeks after the firm’s launch of the Tango Fuel Card — a unified smart fuel and fleet management system — the achievement underscores Tango Brook’s expanding footprint in Nigeria’s digital technology and payment ecosystem.
Speaking on the development, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Obi Wemambu, described the certification as a validation of the company’s consistent pursuit of excellence in data protection and cybersecurity.
“The ISO 27001:2022 standard is an internationally recognised benchmark for information security management systems,” Wemambu said. “Our achievement demonstrates our unwavering commitment to data security and customer trust. We are thrilled to have reached this significant milestone.”
He added that the certification goes beyond regulatory compliance, stressing that it represents a deeper commitment to digital integrity.
“Security is the bedrock of digital trust,” he said. “Our ISO 27001:2022 certification is not just about meeting standards — it’s a powerful pledge to protect customer data with unwavering diligence. With the Tango Fuel Card, we’re redefining fuel payments through transparency, top-tier security, and smart rewards, ensuring every transaction drives confidence and value.”
Also commenting, Omobolanle Pase, Head of Legal at Tango Brook Technologies, highlighted the rigorous process involved in achieving the certification, describing it as a reflection of the company’s strong internal culture of accountability and resilience.
“ISO 27001:2022 is the global standard for how organisations protect information and manage security risks,” Pase said. “It guides how we identify potential threats, implement safeguards, and maintain system resilience. For us at Tango, this wasn’t just a box-ticking exercise; it reflects our deep commitment to keeping customer data safe and building lasting trust.”
She added that leading the internal compliance team through the certification process was both challenging and rewarding, noting that the recognition marks “the beginning of a continuous journey to keep improving our security and privacy practices.”
The ISO 27001:2022 certification reinforces Tango Brook Technologies’ position as a trusted leader in Nigeria’s digital payment landscape. It further demonstrates the company’s proactive approach to managing risks, protecting sensitive data, and delivering innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of consumers and businesses.
Tango Brook’s recently launched Tango Fuel Card — a technology-driven fuel and fleet management platform — offers users access to physical payment cards accepted at fuel stations nationwide. It provides real-time insights, analytics, and fraud prevention tools that help individuals, households, and corporate fleet managers track and optimise fuel consumption.
With its latest achievement, Tango Brook Technologies continues to set a benchmark for secure and transparent digital payment systems in Nigeria and across Africa.
