Nasarawa United return to winning ways, beat Remo Stars |

Nasarawa United Football Club has bounced back from two consecutive losses with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Remo Stars in their Match Day 11 fixture of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The match, played at the Lafia Township Stadium on Thursday, saw Nasarawa United’s determination pay off as they secured all three points.

Michael Ibrahim netted the first goal of the match for the visiting team five minutes into the game, but John Joshua equalised for the  hosts.

Jofrank Istifanus’ goal in the 79 minute sealed the win for the Solid Miners.

This win marked a significant turnaround for the Nasarawa side, which had previously dropped from the league table.

With this victory, the Solid Miners returned to the top of the NPFL table with 22 points, while Remo Stars remained in 17th position with 10 points.

In a post match interview, the Technical Adviser of Nasarawa United, Mbwas Mangut, expressed joy for getting maximum points in the game after their two losses in the previous league matches.

Mangut said that the league is getting difficult, and every team is improving.

He said  that the technical team is working hard to maintain the standard of the level they have taken the Nasarawa side to.

“We will approach every game with a sense of seriousness and dedication to win and maintain our standing in the league table,” he added.

On his part, Suleiman Kamil, Assistant Coach of Remo Stars, said that the team is trying to get back to their best, but unfortunately lost the game to the Solid Miners.

Kamil said the NPFL is a marathon, adding that they would do their best to win the other matches to emerge winners at the end of the league.
