The Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, has listed key achievements recorded in his first year in office, declaring that his administration has delivered “equitable dividends of democracy” across the council area.

Speaking during a media chat to commemorate his one-year stewardship, Ogunsola expressed satisfaction with what he described as the “steady and measurable progress” made under his leadership.

He highlighted major interventions in education, infrastructure, health and rural development, saying, “We promised purposeful governance, and in one year, we have worked across sectors, wards and communities to justify the trust of our people.”

Ogunsola noted that the administration constructed two blocks of 10 classrooms with offices and toilets in Maba, describing it as the first of its kind among local governments in Ogun State.

Other completed projects include: construction of Ogidan Road Phase 1, Owode-Egba (asphalted) ; rehabilitation of Moloko Asipa Health Centre ; provision of motorised borehole at Aderupatan Village; rehabilitation of the Legislative Chamber in Owode ; printing and distribution of free exercise books for public school pupils ; and grading of over 120 kilometres of rural roads across 12 wards.

He added that more roads would be graded once the rains subside.

Meanwhile, Ogunsola is scheduled to travel to Delaware, United States, following an official invitation from the Mayor of Dover, Hon. Robin R. Christiansen, as part of efforts to attract investors to Ogun State and Obafemi Owode specifically.

The visit, themed “Bridging Communities through Friendship, Leadership and Cultural Exchange,” is set to hold at Dover City Hall on Monday, November 24, 2025.

An invitation letter from the mayor reads in part:
“We are honoured to welcome you and your delegation to Dover. This visit is a valuable opportunity to strengthen the relationship between our communities, share ideas and explore avenues for mutual cooperation.”

During the trip, the chairman will also showcase Adire fabrics, sculptures and other cultural artefacts, and will be decorated with the Leadership and Friendship Award by the Dover Mayor.

Ogunsola said the cultural exhibition aligns with Governor Dapo Abiodun’s sustained push for global visibility for Adire and locally made products.

Reassuring residents of continued development, Ogunsola announced that more infrastructural projects would soon commence in several communities.

According to Soneye, expected projects include: Kobape Township Road ; Adigbe–Idi Mongoro Road; Cele Road, Owode-Egba and ; Mowe Market Road leading to the expressway.

He appealed for residents’ cooperation, especially in the prompt payment of taxes and levies.
