What began as a modest fashion vision 15 years ago has grown into one of Nigeria’s most admired creative powerhouses. This week, the Ejiro Amos Tafiri brand celebrated its 15th anniversary with an immersive programme that blended nostalgia, discovery, and bold expressions of African luxury.
Rather than simply marking time, the celebration told a story, one of resilience, reinvention, and a designer’s unwavering belief in African artistry.
The week opened with a dynamic industry conference where top designers, stylists, and creatives reflected on how Ejiro Amos Tafiri has shaped conversations around contemporary African fashion.
Young creatives also took centre stage. Over 200 emerging designers entered the Young Designers Competition, but only six made it to the final showcase.
For them, the chance to compete for a ₦5 million boost was more than a contest, it was an opportunity to stand on a platform built by a brand that once started exactly where they are.
A major highlight was the EAT Brand Exhibition, a thoughtfully curated display of garments spanning 15 years. From early sketches to runway-tested masterpieces, the exhibition allowed visitors to walk through the brand’s evolution, its craftsmanship, and its unique voice in global fashion storytelling.
The anniversary climaxed with a grand runway show featuring 110 looks before an audience of fashion enthusiasts, celebrities and industry executives. The atmosphere was electric, offering a glimpse into the creative universe that has defined EAT for more than a decade.
Established in 2009, Ejiro Amos Tafiri has consistently promoted authentic African design with a modern edge. As the brand marks this milestone, it reinforces its purpose: elevating African heritage while inspiring the next generation of fashion creatives.
