An 18-year-old student of Eemaan Foundation College, Osogbo, Osun State, Ajisafe Qareebullah Olamilekan, has been announced as Nigeria’s overall best candidate in the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), outperforming over 1.8 million candidates nationwide.

Qareebullah, who received the national honour in Umuahia, Abia State, clinched the top position after recording outstanding grades across all subjects, placing Eemaan Foundation College among the leading academic institutions in the country.

In a joint congratulatory message, Little Drop Education, an arm of the OAU Muslim Brothers Forum, and the Small Kindnesses Foundation (SKF), hailed the Osogbo-based school and its star alumnus for bringing honour to the institution, Osun State, and the Nigerian Muslim community.

Founded in 2002 as a nursery and primary school and upgraded to a full secondary college in 2017, Eemaan Foundation College has, over the years, built a reputation for moral discipline and academic excellence.

Qareebullah’s national feat, the groups said, “is a powerful testament to what is possible when young talents are nurtured with values, support, and a sense of community responsibility.”

The foundations also celebrated the school’s proprietor, Pharmacist Qamarudeen Bankole, a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University and former member of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), OAU Branch.

They described him as a visionary whose commitment to faith, discipline, and community development continues to reflect in the school’s growing academic pedigree.

“We commend the founders, administrators, and teachers of Eemaan Foundation School for their unwavering dedication to producing morally upright and academically excellent students,” the statement read.

“Their commitment mirrors the true spirit of community upliftment, and reinforces the belief that small acts of support can transform a child’s future.”

To further encourage excellence among Muslim students nationwide, Little Drop Education and SKF announced a reward of ₦100,000 each for Qareebullah in recognition of his exceptional performance.

The organisations expressed optimism that the teenager’s achievement would inspire more young Nigerians to pursue academic distinction while upholding values that strengthen families, communities and the nation.

“This success reaffirms our conviction that meaningful support—no matter how small—builds a stronger Ummah, a more educated society, and a better Nigeria,” they added.
