Founder of IBD Foundation and Managing Director of IBD Hotels, Omolara Egungbohun, has been named among the Top 50 Most Industrious Women in Africa.

Egungbohun was honoured alongside other  exceptional African women making impactful contributions across sectors including entrepreneurship, governance, technology, media, community development, and the creative industry.

Organisers of the event, which held at Oriental Hotel in Lagos, said the award initiative aimed to celebrate individual accomplishments and stimulate a shift in societal attitudes towards women’s leadership.

Egungbohun was also honoured with the African Humanitarian Ambassador of the Year award for her contributions to hospitality and community development.

The organisers said the awards acknowledge her leadership and innovativeness in introducing new operational initiatives within her hotel chain and foundation.

Egungbohun, who was represented at the award ceremony, dedicated the honours to the people of Yewa land.

The foundation also announced plans for its annual end-of-year thanksgiving concert, themed ‘United in Thanksgiving – Empowered by His Spirit,’ to hold December 21 in Ilaro, Ogun State.

It stated that the concert is open to residents of Yewa land and the general public, regardless of religious affiliation.

The event is part of the foundation’s yearly community outreach, which also targets celebration of children and women in the area.

It will also feature musical performances by  renowned gospel artistes including Woli Arole and Elijah Daniel, alongside refreshments for attendees.
