A new production company, Banger Only Productions (BOP), has been launched to support the next generation of African music producers. The platform aims to provide mentorship, resources, and professional guidance to help producers grow creatively and commercially.
The launch comes at a time when music production in Africa is expanding rapidly, yet producers often remain behind the scenes, with many facing challenges such as limited funding, inadequate access to networks, and few opportunities for professional development.
CEO of Dapper Music and Entertainment, Damilola Akinwunmi, said the initiative is part of a broader effort to build a full music ecosystem. “We are creating structures that support every aspect of the creative process, from A&R and music development to production and artist management. Banger Only Productions is a key piece of that vision,” he explained.
Through BOP, producers will gain access to collaborations with leading artists, strategic partnerships, and networks that extend beyond the continent. The company hopes the move will professionalise and democratise music production and, in turn, elevate the role of producers within the African music industry.
