A multi-million naira Mini Community Library funded by the AMACOS 94/99 Set of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, in partnership with After God’s Heart Incorporated (AGH), is set for inauguration in Abeokuta North Local Government Area.
The project, described as a major boost to educational development in the council, forms part of the legacy interventions of the AMACOS 94/99 Set as they mark their #30YearsOfFriendshipAndTogetherness reunion.
Located within the Abeokuta North LGA secretariat, the Mini Library is equipped with reading desks, shelves, reference books, study materials and other learning resources designed to support students preparing for examinations such as WAEC and JAMB.
The facility is also intended to promote reading culture and provide a safe learning environment for young people in the community.
Speaking on the initiative, Chairman of After God’s Heart Inc., Dr. D. Olawale, said the collaboration with the AMACOS alumni reflects a shared passion for youth development.
“The Mini Library will give students access to quality learning materials at no cost. We are delighted to partner with AMACOS 94/99, a group that continues to demonstrate genuine commitment to community upliftment,” he said.
President of the AMACOS 94/99 Set, Mr. Adebekan Moruff, expressed appreciation to AGH for its “overwhelming support” and to Abeokuta North LG for providing the space for the project.
“This library is a legacy gift from our set. It represents our collective desire to give back to the community that nurtured us. We believe this facility will serve thousands of learners for years to come,” he stated.
The Reunion Planning Committee Chairperson, Lady Lolade Akokhia, said the library commissioning is part of a three-day programme lined up for the group’s 30th anniversary celebration.
She noted that the activities include a courtesy visit to the Mass Communication Department of MAPOLY for the inauguration of an advertising studio and ARCON accreditation project, gift presentations, a visit to the Abeokuta Correctional Centre, FunFest at Olumo Rock, an Adire-themed awards ceremony, and a thanksgiving service.
According to her, the reunion seeks not only to reconnect old classmates but also to reinforce the group’s commitment to educational and community development in Ogun State.
The Mini Community Library will be formally inaugurated on Thursday, December 11, 2025, with the Executive Chairman of Abeokuta North LGA expected as Special Guest of Honour.
