The Director of Bee Solutions and Professor of Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology, Beatrice Olutoyin Opeolu, has described education  as the most reliable pathway out of poverty and a powerful social equaliser capable of opening doors many never imagined.

Prof. Opeolu said this at the official inauguration of the Simbiat Olatunde Ibrahim Education for All Foundation in Imashayi, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The Director  said the foundation was established to promote the enduring values and legacies of her late parents, noting that its interventions would focus on education support, youth empowerment, and programmes targeted at vulnerable women across Imashayi and neighbouring communities.

According to her, the foundation will provide training resources for teachers, mentorship for students, skills acquisition for unemployed youths, and livelihood support for women, all aimed at improving socio-economic outcomes at the grassroots.

She urged parents to emulate her late parents’ commitment to education despite their limited means, stressing that no sacrifice for a child’s future is too great.

While presenting acceptance letters to youths selected for the foundation’s mentorship scheme, Prof. Opeolu encouraged them to remain hopeful and resilient regardless of their current challenges.

“It doesn’t matter what position you are now in your life. It doesn’t matter how chaotic things seem. You are still young; it is better late than never,” she told the beneficiaries.

“Don’t give up on yourself because God has not given up on you. I believe you can still thrive, you can still be the best.”

The Chairman of the event and Chief Imam of Ansar-ud-Deen Muslim Jamaat, Imashayi, Imam Lukman Ojetola, urged youths and women in the community to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by the foundation.

Two beneficiaries, Kabiat Alao and Nosif Lasisi, expressed gratitude to the organisers, promising to justify the confidence reposed in them.

The inauguration attracted dignitaries from across Ogun State, while over 100 residents were empowered through the foundation’s various interventions.
