The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Gombe State Command, has deployed 786 officers and men across the state to ensure a safe, secure and hitch-free 2025 Christmas and New Year celebrations.

This was contained in a press statement signed by SC Buhari Sa’ad, Command Public Relations Officer, NSCDC Gombe State Command, on Sunday.

Sa’ad quoted State Commandant, Commandant Jibrin Idris, who disclosed this in Gombe, saying the deployment demonstrates the Corps’ commitment to protecting lives, property and critical national assets during the festive period.

According to him, the deployment is in line with Operational Order No. 7/2025, which mandates comprehensive security coverage from December 25, 2025, to January 1, 2026.

Commandant Idris explained that all Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Tactical Unit Commanders and sector heads have been directed to ensure effective security operations throughout the state.

“They are to ensure adequate security at all churches and places of worship, protect the lives and property of residents and visitors, safeguard critical public and private assets, and maintain law and order before, during and after the celebrations,” he said.

The Commandant stressed the importance of inter-agency collaboration, noting that the NSCDC is working closely with other security agencies to prevent crime and respond swiftly to any emerging threats.

“The safety of worshippers, residents and visitors is our top priority. We are fully prepared to ensure that Gombe State remains peaceful throughout the festive season,” Idris assured.

He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security operatives by promptly reporting suspicious movements or activities.

“We call on everyone to support security personnel and report any concerns to the nearest security agency. Collective vigilance is key to peaceful celebrations,” he added.

Commandant Idris extended his Christmas goodwill messages to Christians in Gombe State, wishing them a joyous and peaceful celebration.
